Sean Rockey is a seasoned esthetician, spa educator, and wellness mentor with nearly 25 years of experience in the global spa and healing arts industries. His unique journey began in the world of dance and music, which led him toward a lifelong exploration of movement, energy, and nature-based healing. After a series of career-altering knee injuries, Sean’s path shifted from the stage to the sacred—where his experiences in traditional Lakota ceremony, including multiple vision quests, opened the door to a profound connection with nature, spirit, and self.

Sean formally began his herbal studies under 7Song, a master herbalist and director of the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. There, Sean immersed himself in community-based herbalism, learning clinical skills grounded in Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Eclectic herbal traditions. His first teaching experience—a class on herbal safety for babies and children—planted the seed for what would become a decades-long passion for education.

His healing path led him to Santa Fe and eventually to the Big Island of Hawaii, where he lived and worked at the Kalani Honua eco-resort. There, he deepened his practice through Lomi Lomi massage, Ho'oponopono Healing, and Hawaiian plant medicine. He began making botanical treatments from local ingredients, blending sacred traditions with clinical knowledge, laying the foundation for his entry into professional esthetics.

After returning to the mainland, Sean earned his esthetics license and was invited to teach at his alma mater, Zenzi’s Beauty Academy in San Francisco. He found his gift for guiding students of all backgrounds and quickly gained a reputation for making technical knowledge fun, practical, and transformative.

Over the years, Sean expanded his education with postgraduate studies under esthetics pioneers Eva Fredericks and Lori Nestore, energy healing at the Acupressure Institute, Acutonics sound therapy, polarity therapy, and Reiki. He also remained connected to Indigenous communities and ceremonial work, which has continually informed his holistic approach to healing.

Sean’s career reached new heights when he helped launch both SenSpa in San Francisco, and then SENSE a Rosewood Spa in Palo Alto. He became a top educator for OSEA Malibu, a marine-based skincare brand. As a global brand trainer, Sean developed spa protocols, contributed to product formulation, and trained teams in five-star resorts around the world—including Four Seasons Bora Bora, Kuda Huraa Maldives, Anassa Cyprus, GoldenEye Jamaica, and more.

Today, Sean is the founder of Ocean Oasis Spa and Self Care Sanctuary, a boutique day spa rooted in thalassotherapy, aromatherapy, and herbal esthetics. He continues to teach advanced esthetics, coach spa professionals, and serve his community as a member of the Lakelands Park Commission, helping to preserve the Lake Erie ecosystem that first inspired his path.

At the heart of Sean’s work is a mission to reconnect people to nature through self-care. He believes that nurturing healthy skin promotes self-love, boosts self-image, and creates a ripple effect of confidence and success in all areas of life. His approach honors ancient healing traditions, modern science, and his core product philosophy—using treatments that make S.E.N.S.E.: Safe, Effective, Naturally Derived, Sustainable, and Ethically Sourced.

Sean’s vision includes authoring a book titled The Science of Bathing, dedicated to the art, ritual, and therapeutic power of cleansing for the body, mind, and spirit.
